When can I recycle? Residential: Recycling pickup is weekly on your trash day. To determine your trash day, please call the Woodfin Town Hall at (828) 645-7063. Moving? The recycling bins are Curbside’s property. Please leave them at your home if you move. Thank you.

How to Prepare Recyclables Please help make recycling happen by preparing your recyclable materials as requested. What can be recycled and how these materials have to be prepared is determined by the businesses that make products from recycled materials. Careful preparation and separation of recyclables is important. Manufacturers require clean and contaminant free materials to make new products. You can help! REMOVE all caps & recycle (labels my remain on bottles) RINSE all bottles and cans. Empty aerosol cans – remove lids. FLATTEN plastic jugs and plastic soda bottles. BREAK DOWN and FLATTEN all corrugated cardboard. SECURE the lid on the blue bin to prevent paper from blowing out. Set your bins out to the curb by 7:00 A.M. on your recycling day A maximum of 6 bins per household will be collected.  Extra material, such as a lot of cardboard from a move, may be taken to one of the drop-off centers. 

Lay flat under bin: Corrugated Cardboard, flat Place in one yellow bin: Metal Cans Aluminum Steel Tin EMPTY Aerosol cans All Plastic Bottles, Jugs, and Containers #1 - #7 Glass Bottles and Jars (clear, brown, green) Aluminum Pie Tins, Food Trays Milk & Juice Cartons Juice Boxes Place in other yellow bin: Newspapers and inserts Mixed Paper Catalogs Junk mail Magazines Cereal boxes Egg cartons (paper) Envelopes Manila envelopes Office paper Paper Phone books Glossy paper Post-It-Notes Brown paper bags Paper towel rolls Shredded paper (place in paper bag with top rolled down) Etc!

Even if you don’t own a pair of Crocs, you’ve seen them.


They are the distinctive plastic clogs with the holes on top. If you have a worn-out or an outgrown pair, don’t throw them away! Instead, give them a second life by recycling them through Crocs’ SolesUnited program. The company takes old Crocs, grinds them up and makes NEW shoes to give away to people in need. It’s the first-of-its-kind recycled footwear donation program.
