How to Prepare Recyclables

Please help make recycling happen by preparing your recyclable materials as requested. What can be recycled and how these materials have to be prepared is determined by the businesses that make products from recycled materials.
Careful preparation and separation of recyclables is important. Manufacturers require clean and contaminant free materials to make new products. You can help!
REMOVE & Discard all caps (labels may remain on bottles)
RINSE all bottles and cans.
Empty aerosol cans – remove lids.
FLATTEN plastic jugs and plastic soda bottles.
BREAK DOWN and FLATTEN all corrugated cardboard.
Place items in the correct bin. See - “What can I recycle?”
SECURE the lid on the blue bin to prevent paper from blowing out.
Set your bins out to the curb by 7:00 A.M. on your recycling day
A maximum of 6 bins per household will be collected.  Extra material, such as a lot of cardboard from a move, may be taken to one of the drop-off centers.
