How to Prepare Recyclables

Please help make recycling happen by preparing your recyclable materials as requested. What can be recycled and how these materials have to be prepared is determined by the businesses that make products from recycled materials.
Careful preparation and separation of recyclables is important. Manufacturers require clean and contaminant free materials to make new products. You can help!
REMOVE & Discard all caps (labels my remain on bottles)
RINSE all bottles and cans.
Empty aerosol cans – remove lids.
FLATTEN plastic jugs and plastic soda bottles.
BREAK DOWN and FLATTEN all corrugated cardboard.
Place items in the correct bin. See - “What can I recycle?” (left)
SECURE the lid on the blue bin to prevent paper from blowing out.

RECYCLE YOUR CROCS!

Even if you don’t own a pair of Crocs, you’ve seen them.

They are the distinctive plastic clogs with the holes on top. If you have a worn-out or an outgrown pair, don’t throw them away! Instead, give them a second life by recycling them through Crocs’ SolesUnited program. The company takes old Crocs, grinds them up and makes NEW shoes to give away to people in need. It’s the first-of-its-kind recycled footwear donation program.

You can mail your old Crocs to one of these addresses:

• Crocs Recycling – West

3375 Enterprise Avenue

Bloomington, CA 92316

• Crocs Recycling – East

1500 Commodity Boulevard

Lockbourne, OH 43137

To date, SolesUnited has donated 1 million pairs of recycled shoes, with a goal of giving away 2 million by the end of this year.

For more information, visit SolesUnited.
